Smoke And Mirrors

Mirror, mirror on the wall
who will I be today
Am I the fairest of them all
or am I a ghost in the grey

Mirror, mirror on the wall
whither must I wander
Take your smoke screen off my eyes
so I can see further

Grab with my hands for something to hold
but all I can catch are mirages and smoke

Sometimes a look into my eyes
makes everything much clearer
sometimes no matter how I try
it’s all just smoke and mirrors

Mirror, mirror on the wall
your smoke might make me blind
There’ll be monsters and horror tales
so I leave you behind

Mirror, mirror on the wall
take me downwards deep
Onwards through the looking glass
where there’s so much to see

Grab with my hands for something to hold
a lifeline of words in a sea of smoke

Sometimes a look into my eyes
makes everything much clearer
sometimes no matter how I try
it’s all just smoke and mirrors
